There are Many Great Things You Can Do Outside
by Shelly Feronia

Whether you want to blaze trails outside or just spend a
bit of time enjoying the weather, the outdoors can be a
great place for you to spend some time. Each season has
its own unique set of activities for you to participate
in. Regardless of the time of year, you should be able to
find something in the outdoors that you will enjoy.
The summer by far offers the most activities. In the
summer, most people want to be able to have fun and slough
off their winter doldrums. You can head to the pool or
have other fun with water, such as boating. If you're
interested in boating, that one activity can provide many
hours of entertainment whether you want to ride out onto a
lake, pull a water skiier behind you, or catch fish for
tonight's dinner. There are solo activities you can
undertake as well. These include walking and spending time
at a park.
You also can plan hikes or rock climbs with your friends to
capitalize on your more rugged nature and competitive
spirit. In most places, summer is one of the shorter
seasons, only lasting a couple of months, but you should
find yourself able to enjoy it to the fullest extent. For
many people, summer is simply the time to get outside and
have some fun.
In the winter months, people, especially children, want to
have fun out in the snow. These people will make snow
angels or snowmen, or they may have a snowball fight. You
also can walk around in the snow, having loads of fun
while you're walking and getting good exercise. Even if
you don't live in a snow-covered area, you can take
advantage of the cold by playing football and other sports
outdoors. If you do live in an area where it snows, you
know that there's no comparison for the cool air in your
lungs and the beauty of the snow.
The winter also provides the change to snowboard or sled or
participate in a number of other winter activities. Skiing
is one of the world's most popular sporting events, and if
you live where it snows, you've probably headed to the
slopes once you saw the snow falling at least once in your
life. Skiing is something the whole family can enjoy, and
you can learn to do it even if you're not especially
athletic.
The spring is one of the beautiful times of the year when
everything is recovering from its winter hibernation, but
you can still enjoy yourself without the sweltering heat
of the summer months. Spring is a time when you get
sunlight but not too much. If you are interested in
basketball or a game of pick-up baseball, head down to
your public recreational area and find a game going on.
The fall is also a transitional season, only this one
provides the beauty of changing leaves. You can go out and
get some exercise while raking leaves or pick up your
normal exercise routine since you won't have to compete
with the intensity of the sun.
Regardless of the season, you can work outdoors or just
have fun. There are plenty of ways to spend your time
outside and get plenty of exercise, and there are beautiful
views that you don't want to miss. So before you spend
another day cooped up in your living room, head out and
enjoy what nature has to offer.
