Golf As It Was

You only need to watch golf for a few tournaments where the
pros sweep the course to get the golf bug. Suddenly you
decide you want to learn to play. How hard can it be
right?
But you shall be in for shock. How hard can it be after
all, all you do is put the ball on a small tee and hit in
down the fairway. Simple! You might want to play around a
bit before you go and spend loads of money on clubs and
balls.
Golf can be one of the most rewarding games to play. Golf
is also a game that one can play from childhood throughout
the retirement years. With newer technologies, golf has
become available to almost anyone desiring to play. Another
benefit of golf is that no matter whether you walk the
course or ride a cart, there's still plenty of activity in
a game of golf, especially for those beginning golf.
Beginners though usually have a tougher time than advanced
golfers though because they have a harder time controlling
the ball. Beginners spend more time walking the course and
traversing across wooded areas, valleys, sand traps, water
traps and hills looking for and retrieving a golf ball.
Golf is a great game but it is tiring for the beginning as
there is a lot to learn and accomplish in a short space of
time. But beginners have to play on a course some time as
hitting at the range can be boring.
First off, it's good idea to remember this one phrase, "You
can't buy better golf scores." Golf is ultimately not
about the best golf clubs, golf balls, golf bags, golf
shoes, or even expensive golf lessons. It's also a good
idea to start off with an inexpensive set of clubs, maybe
even borrow some from friends, just to test your passions.
The next step is to take a few golf lessons, either online
or from an instructor locally. Then go to the driving
range, and practice, practice, practice. At the driving
range remember to do more than simply hit the golf ball.
The game of golf is probably 90% mental, and 10% other, so
train your mind from the start. You will be thinking about
your stance, your set-up, the way you hold your golf club,
your posture as you hit the ball, and possibly a hundred
other phrases you'll hear as you begin to learn the game of
golf.
As you hear all these "must do's and must have's for golf"
don't forget the most important fact of golf. The entire
goal of the game is simply to get the ball into the hole on
the green in as few strokes as you can. That is the game of
golf. After you learn the basics of golf, the best thing to
do is to play from your heart. Know yourself, mentally get
fit for the game ahead, and most importantly enjoy your
golf game.
